Highway 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet known as Duffey Lake Road is packed with big scenery. Pick this route up after doing the Sea to Sky Highway out of Vancouver. It‛s wild and offers loads of wild camp spots along with good hiking and amazing photo opportunities.
The first time we traveled this road was from the opposite direction Lillooet to Whistler. There had been an accident on the road and it was closed for 24 hours so we camped just outside Lillooet in B C Hydro Seton Lake Campsite. I went walking in the early evening and caught site of a black bear in the near distance. The rail road also runs cheek by jowl with Seton Lake and from Lillooet station you can ride a single carriage car that runs between it and Seton Portage daily.
