Sea to Sky part 1

The Sea to Sky Highway runs out of Vancouver and through to Lillooet. For us the ferry from Nanaimo drops you at Horseshoe Bay, a short 30 min drive out of Vancouver City. We have passed this way before but on this occasion time was getting late in the day so we stopped at Klahanie Campground opposite Shannon Falls (probably has some Irish connection!). As it was now dark and we had been driving from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island from 9am that morning all we wanted was food and our sleeping bags. And a good night!

In the morning we took a quick look at Shannon Falls and then headed to the Sea to Sky Gondola and up to the top of Mount Habrich.

Up top the views are outstanding and speak for themselves, see the pictures below. We hiked most of the trails up there and then returned back to the lodge for a coffee (Sarah) and a Diet Coke (me) along with a chocolate muffin (me again) nothing ‘ crusty nutter’ safe for Sarah.

Taking in the view on Mount Habrich trails

Quick Timelapse video of the gondola ride and Sarah’s favourite type of suspension bridge below. However, if you don’t like heights I’d give it a miss (Anna especially !!!!!!!!)

Sea to Sky Gondola back down (40 secs long)
Sarah on the Sky bridge (40 secs long)
Sea to Sky Gondola trip up and then back down again. (80 secs long)

    Looks absolutely amazing 😲

    1. Hi Mary hope you’re well. Yep, it’s amazing the mountains come straight out of the sea and the view from up top is WOW! No roads up the coast so you have to hop on and off ferries to go up north along the coast.
Say hi to Michelle and Channy for me. 👍
