French Beach on the Strait of Juan de Fuca

French Beach

Lonely beaches

Arrived on Vancouver Island first stop Sooke before heading to French beach and a rural campsite amongst the trees. Gorgeous beach and of course Dave had to go for a swim in the Pacific which as you can imagine was freezing cold. Took a good few hours for his toes to recover!

After a peaceful night we headed along the coast with the intent to explore lots of beautiful beaches, sadly only one explored as the weather had other ideas, as the mist descended and so did the rain.

We did eventually arrive in Port Renfrew and found a lovely cafe for a hot drink and Dave got the biggest cake bar( probably) in the world that was consumed in one go after lunch.

Then we continued our journey through the beautiful forests via Chowichen towards our next stop in Nanaimo.

A cold and wet day deep in the BC forest

Victoria Island mountains

Travelling through the lonely mountains in the mist and rain. It’s definitely not hot here, but the scenery is stunning.
